Facebook knows that eventually, most businesses worldwide will turn to Facebook to carry out some of their marketing operations. Facebook Marketing Solutions has published a whitepaper aimed to facilitate business users to turn around their business in merely three weeks. How does that sound?

Business Success on Facebook

Facebook’s approach has been simple. It has plotted weekly tasks for businesses to perform. If you are a new business, here’s the way to go:

Week 1: “Connect People to Your Page”

  • Gain Connections: It is crucial to realize who the connections of the business are. Connect with them!
  • If the business has a physical location, claim it!
  • Create a page and add as much information as possible. Adding photos is a must.
  • Make posts at least twice a week. Critical to have a schedule for this purpose.
  • Invite advocates to “LIKE” the page.
  • Once you have topped 25 fans, get a personalized link to the page by visiting facebook.com/username.
  • Put this personalized link on all marketing channels (business cards, receipts, email etc.) and promote to visiting customers.

Week 2: “Reach People & Their Friends”

  • Engage fans by posting pictures & videos once or twice a week. Ask questions and respond. Communicate!
  • Experiment with promotions & discounts available to fans only. Check out facebook.com/sprinkles to get an idea.
  • Create a Page Post Ad. Will increase the chance of reaching out by 3-5 times to fans.
  • Create a Facebook Ad for your page to incentivize people.
  • Experiment with different images and ad copy with the Facebook Ads. Check out which one works best.
  • Create a first Sponsor Story.
  • If People regularly check-in on your business, create a check-in Sponsor Story.
  • Create a Welcome tab on your landing page to maximize “LIKES”.

Week 3: “Insights & Optimization”

  • Review Page Insight data to get an idea of how popular your business is, what type of content is most engaging, demographics and location of fans.
  • Review Ads Manager regularly at facebook.com/ads/manage.
  • Be sure to have different campaign for different products and regions.
  • Refresh image for ads that are working well to help maintain performance. Shift budget to ads that work well.
  • Put a Facebook “LIKE” button on your webpage to create further awareness.
  • Turn fans into page leads by posting an incentive and directing them to existing lead generation forms or promotions.

Your business should be ready to make some extra dollars!

Motorola Announces The GSM Version Of The RAZR MAXX For Europe And Asia

The Motorola Droid RAZR is perhaps the perfect example of a decent phone announced at the wrong time. The handset was announced just hours before Samsung and Google unveiled the Galaxy Nexus, along with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The RAZR is a decent Android handset with a sub-par 4.3-inch qHD Super-AMOLED Advanced display, a 1.2GHz dual core processor and a PowerVR SGX540 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 8MP camera, 4G LTE and an insanely thin waist line of 7.1mm which packs a 1780mAh battery.

A couple of months after the RAZR was released, Motorola released a fatter version of the handset dubbed as the Droid RAZR MAXX. The MAXX is similar to the RAZR except that it is a bit thicker at 9mm, but packs in a beefy 3300mAh battery. Thanks to the beefy battery, the RAZR MAXX easily lasts a day under heavy usage while constantly using Verizon’s blazing fast 4G LTE network.

A month after releasing the RAZR MAXX, Motorola again released a new variant of the RAZR  with an unlocked bootloader targeted for the developers. The handset came with no warranty whatsoever, and had to be purchased outright and was available only in the United States.

Today, Motorola has announced another variant of the RAZR MAXX which comes with GSM radios. The handset will be running on Android 2.3.6 Gingerbread out of the box, but will get the Ice Cream Sandwich update soon. The handset is expected to be available in selected markets in Europe and Middle East sometime in May 2012.

Hot on the heels of the Ice Cream Sandwich update for the Galaxy S II, and the value pack update for the Galaxy S, Sammy has started rolling out the value pack update for the Galaxy W as well. The new Value pack update for the Galaxy W does not bring Ice Cream Sandwich to the handset, but does bring many of the features introduced by Google in ICS.

Like the value pack update for the Galaxy S, the update for the Galaxy W brings Face Unlock with blink detection, the ability to click pictures while shooting a video, ending a call by using the power key, the ability to increase the font size in Contacts, Calendar and a few other apps. The update also improves the overall performance and stability of the phone.

The update is already live in Europe and a few other regions of the world. Galaxy W owners can install the Value pack update on their handset by either using KIES 2.0 or wait for the OTA update to hit their phone.

Google Drive to Offer 5 GB of Free Online Storage

Google’s free cloud based storage service – Google Drive – has been rumored to be in development since years now. However, speculation that it may finally be close to launch has intensified in the last week, after a report by GigaOM stated that it will be launched in April 2012.

While the report stated that it will offer 1 GB of free storage – much less than what Dropbox or Microsoft Skydrive offer, a new leaked screenshot by TalkAndroid suggests that Google Drive will offer 5 GB of free online storage to all users. It also says that it may be launched on April 16.

By offering 5 GB, Google Drive is offering much more than Dropbox officially does, but only a fifth of what Skydrive offers.

Google Drive will work on desktop, tablets, mobiles and also have a web based interface at drive.google.com (which currently throws a 404 error).

It will also offer integration with Google Docs and Google Apps, and will be targeted at individual users, as well as small businesses with multi-user support. It may also be integrated with all Android smartphones going forward, to boost market share and make it the default option for the average Joe.
